La Porsche 911 GT2 RS, fresca di presentazione ufficiale al Salone di Francoforte 2017 (dopo l’unveiling mondiale al Festival of Speed di Goodwood), ha stabilito il nuovo record per auto stradali di regolare produzione (e con trazione posteriore) sulla pista del Nurburgring: 6:47.3.
Questa prestazione è eccezionale per distrugge il tempo, fatto segnare nel 2016, della Lamborghini Huracan Performante: 6:52.01. E supera anche l’eccezionale 6:48.28 ottenuto nell’agosto 2009 da Michael Vergers con una Radical SR8 LM. La GT2 RS, infine, ha girato quasi 10 secondi più veloce della 918 Spyder ed è, da ora, ufficialmente la Porsche 911 più veloce sulla pista tedesca.
Il giro è stato ottenuto il 20 settembre alla presenza di un notaio. Lars Kern (tester ufficiale Porsche) e Nick Tandy (pilota ufficiale della Casa di Stoccarda) hanno inanellato una serie di giri di prova con molte prestazioni sotto i 6 minuti e 50 secondi. Alla fine Kern ha ottenuto il tempo più veloce, girando lungo i 20,6 chilometri del Nordschleife alla media di 184 km/h.
La Porsche 911 GT2 RS è una versione iper-sviluppata della Turbo. Il boxer 6 cilindri biturbo produce 700 cavalli (80 Cv in più rispetto alla sua progenitrice, la 997 GT2 RS con 620 Cv) e 750 Nm di coppia massima. Pesa 1.470 kg con il pieno di benzina, vola sullo 0-100 in 2″8 e raggiunge 340 km/h. Sul listino italiano il prezzo è di 293.732 Euro ma “sembra” (Porsche non conferma) che la produzione (solo 1.000 esemplari) sia già stata tutta assegnata.
I TEMPI ANCORA PIU’ BASSI
In realtà la GT2 RS, in termini assoluti non è la migliore. “Liberando” le caratteristiche dei veicoli, allora i tempi scendono ancora.
Lo scorso 20 marzo la NextEv NIO EP9 – supercar a motorizzazione elettrica ma ancora non definitivamente pronta per la produzione – ha fermato il cronometro a 6:45.9. Il 26 maggio Kenny Brack, a bordo di una McLaren P1 XP1 LM Prototipo (quindi non stradale), ha girato in 6:43.22.
Il record assoluto fu stabilito il 28 maggio 1983 dal compianto Stefan Bellof a bordo di una Porsche 956 ufficiale. Durante le qualifiche per la 1000 Chilometri del Nurburgring girò in 6:11.13.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS set an incredible time of 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds along the Nordschleife. This performance beats seriously the Lamborghini Huracán Performante (6:52:01) but also the long-standing (August 2009) record of the Radical sR8 LM (6:48.28).
Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President Motorsport and GT Cars, said: “At the start of the development process, we set ourselves a lap time target for the GT2 RS of less than 7 minutes and 5 seconds. The credit for beating this target by 17.7 seconds goes to our development engineers, mechanics and drivers, who demonstrated an exceptionally strong team performance. This result makes it official: The GT2 RS is not only the most powerful, but also the fastest 911 ever built”.
Lars Kern (30) from Germany and Nick Tandy (32) from the UK broke the previous record for road-approved sports cars (6 minutes, 52.01 seconds) in their first attempt and subsequently finished five laps in under 6 minutes, 50 seconds. Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Model Line, says: “It’s not just the record time achieved by the GT2 RS that demonstrates the vehicle’s class, but also its consistent performance in every lap. We’re particularly proud of the fact that this was achieved with two different vehicles and two different drivers, as this underlines the GT2 RS’s ability to reproduce this record result over and over again”.
The record lap began at 7:11 pm and finished 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds later in ideal outdoor conditions. As is customary for record drives, the time was measured along the 20.6-kilometre stretch. The vehicle’s average speed was 184.11 km/h.
The fastest and most powerful road-approved 911 celebrated its world premiere at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood in the UK at the end of June. At the heart of this high-performance sports car is a 515-kW (700-hp) six-cylinder biturbo flat engine. Weighing in at 1,470 kg with a full fuel tank, the lightweight two-seater accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. The rear-wheel drive Coupé has a top speed of 340 km/h and with its near-motorsport drive technology, the new 911 GT2 RS trumps its 3.6-litre predecessor by 59 kW (80 hp) and achieves a torque of 750 Newton metres (an increase of 50 Nm).
