Per certe autovetture di fascia sportiva, il passo dai circuiti motoristici alla strada non solo è logico ma anche dovuto. Un omaggio, ma anche un proclama delle qualità massime raggiunte.
Con questa idea (e la V8 Vantage GTE vincitrice del WEC 2016 per la sua classe) in testa, Aston Martin presenta la sua sport car di maggiore successo insignita del badge derivato dal reparto Racing: Vantage AMR.
Produzione limitata a 300 esemplari, di cui 200 forniti del V8 di 4.7 litri e 100 con un possente V12 6.0 litri.
La versione più pura e vicina alla GTE monta il V8, che in questa versione sviluppa 435 CV, mentre chi ambisce al V12 dovrà gestire la bellezza di 603 CV. La trazione, come di consueto, è affidata solo al retrotreno, mentre la casa inglese offre intelligentemente la possibilità di scelta per quanto concerne la trasmissione: automatica con paddle shift al volante per entrambi i modelli, oppure con cambio manuale a 6 (per la V8) o 7 rapporti (per la V12).
Dettagli importanti in fibra di carbonio sono presenti nella calandra, nelle minigonne laterali, nelle calotte degli specchietti fino ad arrivare ai sedili stessi. Opzionale, un kit AMR comprendente splitter ed alettone posteriore, oltre ad uno scarico interamente in titanio che garantisce una erogazione migliore, un sound più aggressivo e riduce il peso complessivo di 14 Kg (sulla V12).
Quattro sono le colorazioni esclusive disponibili: Stratus White, Ultramarine Black, Zaffre Blue e Scintilla Silver, ciascuno con una particolare grafica a contrasto, ma è l’Halo Pack (optional) quello che maggiormente attira l’attenzione, in quanto riproduce la livrea della GTE vincitrice con Nicki Thiim e Marco Sørensen dello scorso WEC (e aggiunge la Union Jack nel logo Aston Martin).
Interni di pregio come su ogni Aston Martin che si rispetti con inserti in pelle ad Alcantara e cuciture a contrasto: avremmo preferito però qualcosa di più nudo e crudo, minimal, anche questo certamente di gusto inglese e ancora più prossimo alla versione racing da cui nasce questa produzione. E’ attivo comunque un programma “ad personam” per una più minuziosa caratterizzazione della vettura.
Presentata ufficialmente all’imminente 24h di Le Mans, sia con carrozzeria Coupé che Roadster, avrà prezzi che partono da £97.995 per la V8 (£107.500 per la Roadster) e da £148.995 per la V12 (£158.500 per la Roadster). Ordini già aperti, prime consegne entro la fine dell’anno.

By taking inspiration or direct influence from Aston Martin Racing’s participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship, Aston Martin launched on last March at Geneva Auto show the Vantage AMR aiming to amplify and accentuate the sporting prowess of the British marque’s road cars.
The new model line has two distinct tiers. At its entry point sits the new Vantage AMR while extreme and extensively modified AMR Pro models, created by Q by Aston Martin Advanced Operations, are at the pinnacle of the range.
A celebration of Aston Martin’s worldwide success across GT4, GT3 and GTE categories, the Vantage AMRs are offered both with 430bhp V8 or 595bhp – up from 565bhp – V12 powertrain options. Both are fitted with automated sequential manual paddle-shift transmissions, or for the purist, six and seven-speed manual gearboxes respectively.
Vantage AMR is available in four striking AMR exterior schemes: Stratus White with an Orange graphic; Ultramarine Black with Blue graphic; Zaffre Blue with Red graphic; Scintilla Silver with Grey graphic and the Halo Pack which takes direct inspiration from Aston Martin Racing’s 2016 World Endurance Championship-winning #95 Vantage GTE (a combination of Stirling Green paint and vivid Lime Green accents).
Each of the exterior schemes is matched to a different interior scheme. Lightweight carbon fibre seats are offered as part of the extensive range of interior and exterior options. These include a suite of other carbon fibre features, including a lightweight front grille, side strakes, lamp infills and mirror caps on the outside, instrument surround, door tops and door grabs on the inside. There is also a choice of three different finishes for the V8 Vantage AMR’s 5-spoke alloy wheels and the V12 Vantage AMR’s lightweight 10-spoke alloy wheels.
Both V8 and V12 Vantage AMR models are available in both Coupe and Roadster body styles in selected markets2, with recommended retail prices starting from £97,995 in the UK and €126,995 in Germany. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q4 2017.
