Tra i vari modelli che i marchi della “bella meccanica” ci propongono non possiamo non citare l’ultimo modello presentato da Lange. L’A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Secondi Saltanti (Ref. 252.032), dopo la versione in platino presentata lo scorso anno, viene ora proposto con cassa in oro rosa (39,9mm x 10,6mm) e in una serie limitata di 100 esemplari.
E’ un segnatempo rigoroso nelle linee ma, allo stesso tempo, ingentilito da 3 contatori circolari che s’intrecciano come a volersi abbracciare. Basta un attimo e facilmente ti ritrovi a leggere ora, minuti e secondi.
Il suo cuore meccanico pulsante è il calibro manuale di Manifattura Lange L094.1 (390 componenti, 50 rubini, platine e ponti in alpacca naturale, ponte del bilanciere inciso a mano, scappamento ad ancora, 21.600 a/h, 42 ore riserva di marcia). Questo meccanismo offre le indicazioni di ore, minuti, secondi saltanti esattamente con arresto dei secondi e funzione Zero Reset e indicatore della riserva di carica.
Il focus di questo segnatempo con quadrante in argento massiccio argenté è la lancetta brunita dei secondi che, grazie al sistema tenditore visibile attraverso il fondello in vetro zaffiro durezza 9, percorre in 60 salti al minuto il cerchio superiore più grande del display. Questo meccanismo, oltre a trasmettere lo “stimolo al salto”, garantisce una trazione costante per tutta la durata della riserva di marcia di 42 ore. Un piccolo rettangolo visibile a ore 6 si “tinge di rosso” 10 ore prima dell’esaurimento della carica in modo da ricordare al possessore dell’orologio di ricaricarlo. Comodo anche il sistema Zero Reset grazie al quale, quando si estrae la corona, il bilanciere si arresta facendo scattare la lancetta dei secondi sullo zero.
Il cinturino in pelle di alligatore cucito a mano, marrone rossiccio è chiuso con una fibbia ad ardiglione Lange in oro rosa.

The new A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds, a limited 100-watch edition with case (39,9mm x 10,6mm) in pink gold, focuses squarely on the smallest of the three units of time: a blued seconds hand rotates around the largest dial located at the top of the regulator watch’s face in 60 steps per minute. A sophisticated one-second constant-force escapement keeps time.
With the unique combination of a jumping second, a constant-force escapement, a ZERO-RESET mechanism and a prominent regulator dial layout, the RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS Ref. 252.032 plays in a league of its own.
It pays tribute to watches for scientific observation and puts the focus on the smallest of the three time measurement units. That can be interpreted literally. In 60 steps per minute, the blued seconds hand advances along the upper and largest circle of the puristic regulator dial. The cadence is defined by an one-second constant-force escapement that serves two purposes. On the one hand, it delivers the switching impulse for the seconds jump, and, on the other, it assures constant power delivery for the entire power reserve of 42 hours. A small indication in the intersection of the three time circles tells the owner when to rewind the watch: it switches to red ten hours in advance.
The function of the constant-force escapement can be observed close up through the sapphire-crystal caseback. The aperture reveals how the remontoir spring of the constant-force escapement receives fresh energy from the mainspring barrel every second to power the escapement at the same rate. Just below it, under a transparent jewel bearing, there is a star connected to the fourth-wheel arbor that controls the jumping seconds sequence.
The ZERO-RESET mechanism is also easily visible. When the crown is pulled, it stops the cam-poised balance and instantly propels the seconds hand to the zero position. An multi-disc clutch reliably stabilises the large seconds hand throughout the accelerating and braking phases to assure perfect one-second legibility of the time.
Its mechanical heart is the Lange manufacture calibre L094.1 (manually wound, 390 components, 50 Jewels, constant-force escapement with remontoir spring crafted in-house, plates and bridges made of untreated German silver, balance cock engraved by hand, balance spring manufactured in-house with a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour, oscillator shock-resistant balance wheel, power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound). The functions are: hours, minutes and jumping seconds with stop seconds and ZERO-RESET function and end-of-power indication (at 6 o’clock).
The dial is in solid silver argenté with hours and minutes hands in pink gold and a blued-steel seconds hand.
With a sapphire crystal’ (Mohs hardness 9) case back, this limited edition is proposed with a hand-stitched alligator leather strap (reddish-brown) with a buckle Lange in pink gold.
