Donkervoort dà avvio alla produzione della serie speciale della D8 GTO RS, l’estrema versione Bare Naked Carbon Edition, con la consegna del primo esemplare, configurato in colore Monte Carlo Blue.
Si tratta della configurazione più sofisticata di questa già specialissima automobile, una Special Edition molto particolare poiché porta all’ennesima potenza l’utilizzo della fibra di carbonio.
Il prezioso e leggero materiale si giustifica ancora di più nel caso di questa versione: tutta la carrozzeria fino ai più insignificanti particolari dell’interno sono realizzati in questo componente. Ma ancora più significativo è che questo è il risultato di un innovativo sistema di produzione, la tecnologia XCORE, che Donkervoort ha brevettato a coronamento di dieci di ricerca.
Il metodo produttivo, che consiste nella riduzione del ciclo di produzione a una sola fase, inizia a riscuotere interesse anche al di fuori del perimetro della factory olandese. Donkervoort, infatti, parla di un “interessamento” verso il sistema XCORE da parte di altri costruttori, aziende navali e aeronautiche.
Ogni esemplare della D8 GTO RS Bare Naked Carbon Edition ha la sua chiave di volta nella carrozzeria con carbonio a vista, protetto da una speciale vernice trasparente altamente resistente.
Questa versione, limitata a soli 15 esemplari, costa 182.000 Euro tasse escluse. Monta il noto 5 cilindri TFSI 2.5 messo a disposizione dall’Audi. Le caratteristiche globali della vettura si riassumono nel tempo sullo 0-100: 2″7.

Small and highly reputed factory Donkervoort delivered the first (of only 15) D8 GTO RS Bare Naked Carbon Edition. This special version, which emphasises the high-tech, ultra-light and super-fast nature of the D8 GTO RS, is probably one of the best proposals ever for extreme demanding customers loving carbonfiber, naked driving and the spirit of a Barchetta.
All of the exterior, from the beastly nose to the recognisable diffuser, is made from visible carbon. The ‘carbon look’ is continued in the interior for the tunnel, doors, window frame, dashboard and seats. But carbon fibre can also be found in the smallest details; even the belt and roll-bar trim, ignition cylinder housing and headlight housing are made from visible carbon.
This particoular unit, the first one, has been trimmed in Monte Carlo Blue paint. Each Bare Naked Carbon Edition undergoes a unique spraying process, where a transparent UV layer is placed on every single carbon component by hand. The latest technologies in this field were also brought together to offer even more possibilities to Donkervoort owners. This includes adding a special colour pigment to transparent paint. The mixture then transforms the fibres and makes them appear in colour.
Extensive use of carbonfibre comes from XCORE technology, one of Donkervoort’s most recent developments. It is an innovative and patented production method for carbon fibre components, where components can be produced in a single production cycle.
The D8 GTO RS Bare Naked Carbon Edition is a special edition (only 15 cars) and is available from €182,000 excl. tax. It goes from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, by combining a powerful 2.5L R5 TFSI and an extremely light structure.
