L’8 settembre 2017 è fissato il debutto della nuova TVR. Dopo una lunga e faticosa ricostruzione – orchestrata dall’imprenditore Les Edgar – il marchio fondato da Trevor Wilkinson sta – finalmente – per ricominciare l’attività dopo oltre 10 anni di oblio a seguito del fallimento.
Il debutto del nuovo modello è fissato per il Goodwood Revival 2017 – 8 e 9 settembre 2017 (è la prima volta, nella storia, dell’evento, che un marchio costruttore svela una nuova automobile). L’Earls Court Builiding ospiterà la nuova auto, di cui ancora non si conosce il nome ufficiale, insieme a una selezione di modelli della sua storia (nell’anno del 70esimo anniversario della fondazione).
1.200 CHILI
Le caratteristiche della nuova TVR si annunciano straordinarie: motore anteriore-centrale, Cosworth 8 cilindri (sviluppato in collaborazione con Gordon Murray Design) da 5 litri di cilindrata.
Con una potenza massima di 480 Cv e 1.200 kg di peso, esprime un rapporto peso/potenza di 480 Cv/tonnellata (la Porsche 991.2 GT3 fornisce solo 331 Cv/Ton).
Les Edgar, Numero Uno di TVR: “Siamo così emozionati di svelare la nuova macchina al Goodwood Revival. Per la prima volta un’automobile viene svelata in questa occasione e questa occasione ci sembra la più appropriata per farlo nel 70esimo anniversario della sua storia. Abbiamo già mostrato la macchina in una serie di eventi privati e non vediamo l’ora di mostrarla al pubblico!”.
Lord March, proprietario della tenuta e della pista di Goodwood: “E’ semplicemente perfetto che un marchio iconico come TVR presenti proprio qui il suo nuovo modello. Non vedo l’ora di dare loro il benvenuto a Goodwood”.
DESPITE NIKOLAI SMOLENSKI DID A REAL MESS AND BROUGHT TVR TO BANKRUPCY, MR. LES EDGAR IS READY TO START OPERATIONS AGAIN AND WENT ON WITH A FABOLOUS STORY. WORLDWIDE DEBUTE IS SCHEDULED FOR 2017 GOODWOOD REVIVAL.
We’ve to wait still for a couple of months. And then TVR will be officially brought to new life. At next Goodwood Revival (September 8th and 9th 2017) the company will unveil the new model for the joy of visitors and, most of all, for the TVR people.
The new TVR has great potential among competitors: under the bonnet there’s a new-developed (in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design) V8 Cosworth engine, in front-mid position as the last models (Tuscan, T350, Sagaris and Cerbera). The order book is near to complete the first 500 units that will be sold as Launch Edition. It will be reopened on sept. 8th.
This engine performs 400 BHP/ton. As TVR states the car weighs only 1.200 kilos this means the engine gives, globally, 480 hp.
The new car will go on display in the ‘Earls Court’ building at the Revival, and will be showcased at the centre of a display which features a number of older, heritage TVRs, in celebration of the British marque’s 70th anniversary.

After a series of secret private viewings organised for the benefit of existing customers for the new car, we know that we have a sure-fire hit on our hands, and very much look forward to seeing the public reaction in September.”
Lord March said: “It is entirely fitting that TVR, as such an iconic British marque, should unveil what will be a very exciting entrant to the global sports car market at the Revival this year and I very much look forward to welcoming them to Goodwood in September.”
